The Heavy Rigid (HR) classification includes trucks with a GVM exceeding 8,000 kilograms. These trucks are larger and more powerful than light and medium rigid trucks and are designed for heavy-duty applications. They typically have three or more axles, a single chassis and do not articulate in the middle like an articulated truck or semi-trailer.
Heavy rigid trucks are commonly used for delivery services, distribution, and transportation of goods where a larger cargo capacity is needed compared to smaller vehicles.
Our Truck Driving Lesson will teach you how to safely operate a Heavy Rigid Vehicle under various traffic conditons. Our lessons are suitable for first-time truck drivers, as well as experienced truck drivers who want to switch truck class.
Lesons are one hour in length and are undertaken in a Border Truck Training Heavy Rigid Vehicle.
You must hold a current and valid Queensland car (class C) driver's license to undertake this lesson.
